Shawn McClain, Executive Chef and Owner of a high-end restaurant in Chicago once said about New Zealand food: “You can just look at the water and rich green land and know things are pure.”

Shawn McClain was right – New Zealand provides high quality, delectable culinary products fresh from pastures, sea and land.

New Zealand has just the right conditions for producing exceptional food and beverage: the right climate to grow lush produce; enough space for animals to roam free and produce great-tasting meat and dairy; a trustworthy and sustainable supply of seafood; a creative spirit for culinary innovation; and international experience required to understand export markets.

As a result, New Zealand produces some of the best tasting dairy, meat, horticulture, seafood and wine the world has to offer. And, being one of only two countries internationally to export more than half of its total food production, New Zealand really understands how to satisfy quality, flavour and food safety requirements

Dairy Products

New Zealand has a moderate climate, lush grass and no pests or diseases. New Zealand cows graze on green pastures and New Zealand farmers don`t use artificial feeding and pesticides.
New Zealand`s government has banned the use of antibiotics in feed, and the practice of giving hormone injections and prolactin to dairy cows. But in 2002 the total New Zealand dairy products still account for 31% of the worlds traded dairy exports. New Zealanders are proud of it. March 2002 statistics show that New Zealand`s dairy exports in NZ$6.2 billion dollars (about 3.6 billion U.S. dollars) from top to bottom, accounting for more than 20% of exports.
New Zealand is its excellent environment and a strict quarantine system and good quality, in animal meat, dairy products in the international market to win credibility, access to benefits. In short, the New Zealand dairy export-oriented industry, is constantly innovating and expanding, and actively participate in the new international competition, and its product safety and quality assurance system is the decisive factor in the survival and development

Compliance

Compliance can be a daunting challenge, but, we look at it as an opportunity to establish and promote operational excellence throughout our organization and use it to significantly improve overall performance.
Compliance is an important mechanism that supports effective governance. Compliance with regulatory requirements and manufacturers policies are a critical component of effective risk management.
Monitoring and maintaining compliance is not just to keep the regulators happy, it is one of the most important ways for our companies to maintain ethical health, support our long-term prosperity, and preserve and promote New Zealand’s values.

Below are some registers/councils that we are members of:

Supply

We have formed key strategic relationships with a team of suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that we can deliver a consistent supply of product to our channel partners. These key relationships are with

  • Dairy companies
  • Ingredient specialists from here in NZ and around the world
  • Packaging specialists
  • Formulation blenders and fillers

As large customers of multiple suppliers above we can ensure that supply needs can be consistently met, within agreed timeframes, as we have preferred supplier status. This also ensures competitive pricing based on the volumes we achieve across our channel partners.

Regulatory

The companies we work with comply with all laws and regulations around corporate governance, labeling, and food standards and safety in New Zealand; along with those of the countries we export to.  Our Products are rigorously tested by accredited government owned and operated laboratories, ensuring they meet with the required standards of both NZ and the importing country’s governments.

Our nutritional dairy products are registered with New Zealand’s Ministry of Primary Industries, ensuring they meet the appropriate specifications enabling us to gain the official assurances we require for export.

Once this registration process is completed we can export our products around the world, and the official assurances that accompany our exported product mean the importing country’s border officials can be sure that the product complies.  Full Test reports are made available to the border officials so that they can check the results against their own country’s requirements.

We make sure that our products are tested, checked and rechecked, and as we understand the regulatory environment in New Zealand and in overseas markets including labeling and product registration requirements, each of our distributors can benefit from this in terms of process efficiency and speed to market.
